The birth-year element
The birth-year element is part of the 60-year cycle. It changes with each Chinese zodiac year and creates labels such as Wood Dragon, Fire Horse, Metal Dog, or Water Rat.
This is the label most people expect when they search "what is my Chinese zodiac element". It depends on the Chinese zodiac year that began before your birth date.
The fixed animal element
Each zodiac animal is also associated with a fixed element. Rat is linked with Water, Tiger with Wood, Horse with Fire, Monkey with Metal, and several animals with Earth. This fixed element is a different layer from the birth-year element.
Why this matters for a report
A more useful personal profile should not flatten everything into one word. ElementMirror separates the year element, animal element, and personality-test element so the report can explain where the labels agree and where they create contrast.
